About this EventJoin the Macleay Valley Business Chamber at the Building Better Business Breakfast and gain insights on how you can be proactive in building our local economy.

Our first Guest Speaker, Natalie Mitchell – Director Capital Office Business Solutions will talk us through financial decision making for the future. The presentation will cover an overview of Strategic & Operational Planning – the need to take action now , Risk Assessment & Mitigation , Red Flags & New Turnaround Legislation and Business Finance & Cashflow.

Our second Speaker, Stuart Smith – Pathways Officer RDA MNC, will walk us through the North Coast Employment Strategy and how we can grow jobs on the Mid North Coast. He will touch on opportunities for employers and give an overview of the My Future Worksforce Platform which was built to help “Local people into Local Jobs”.

This event is funded by and registered as a Small Business Month Event.
The breakfast is offered FREE, but bookings are essential and seats are limited.
We will also have giveaways for some lucky attendees on the the morning!

About our Speakers:

Natalie Mitchell GAICD MIPADirector, Capital Office Business Solutions
Director, Business NSW (NSW Business Chamber)

Natalie’s 25 year career in business management began with accounting & finance roles, eventually leading to involvement in business management and inventory control software; she has led sales teams and managed large software implementation projects in Tokyo, Singapore and Chicago. Business consultancy was a natural progression, utilising her skills in management, finance, sales, reporting and governance.

Upon returning to Australia, Natalie started her own management consulting and advisory company, which she has now been operating for 16 years on the Mid-North Coast.
Stuart SmithRDAMNC Pathways Officer

Stuart obtained his PhD from Macquarie University in 2000 and has since worked in research organisations and universities in the United States (NASA), the Republic of Ireland (Trinity College Dublin) and Australia (e.g. Neuroscience Research Australia, Southern Cross University). Most recently he was the Director of Research for the Global Centre for Modern Ageing.

As an academic Stuart took an industry-facing approach and has been committed to ensuring research is translated into ‘real world’ applications. He has developed a number of innovative digital solutions for provision of health, aged and disability service provision and is an advocate for the development of knowledge economy-based industries in regional Australia.

Stuart and his family have been members of the mid coast communities for over a decade and brings to the Pathways Officer role his enthusiasm and commitment to social and economic development of the region.

As part of his role Stuart will be connecting with local employers to introduce RDAMNC’s recently launched employment platform – My Future Workforce.

Annual General Meeting Notice

The Annual General Meeting for the Macleay Valley Business Chamber will be held on Wednesday 25th November 2020 at the Kempsey Macleay RSL commencing 7.10am.

The business of the Annual General Meeting is to include the following:

(a) to confirm the minutes of the last preceding annual general meeting and of any special general meeting held since that meeting,

(b) to receive from the committee reports on the activities of the association during the last preceding financial year,

(c) to elect office-bearers of the association and ordinary committee members,

(d) to receive and consider the financial report.

Join us for the first Chamber function of 2021 on Wednesday 24th February at the Coastline Credit Union Hub on Smith St, Kempsey. The February Business Breakfast is a great way to reconnect with colleagues and meet new faces as we launch into the New Year.

Janine Culnane, Employment Facilitator, Local Jobs Program, Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast

Our first presenter is Janine Culnane, Employment Facilitator, Local Jobs Program. Janine will be sharing an update on the Local Jobs Program which will run to the 30 June 2022 in 25 regions throughout Australia. It brings together expertise, resources and access to funding at the local level to focus on reskilling, upskilling and employment pathways for people in each region. The program is part of supporting Australia’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kellon Beard, Mid North Coast Regional Manager, Business NSW

Our second presenter is Kellon Beard, Mid North Coast Regional Manager, Business NSW. Kellon will be providing an update Job Keeper changes and other items from Business NSW. Business NSW, previously known as NSW Business Chamber is leading the way on advocacy for NSW businesses and are a valuable resource to business large and small. As a local Macleay Valley Chamber Member, you can access assistance and resources from NSW Business through the Alliance Membership Program for free.

Join us at the new Macleay Options Oasis Day Program Building for a networking evening in South Kempsey!

The Macleay Valley Business Chamber’s April event will be held at the Macleay Options new Oasis Day Program Building in South Kempsey.

The facility was officially opened in March 2021 and is a $650,000.00 investment by Macleay Options to providing improved services to their clients.

Attendees will hear from Macleay Options on their journey which commenced over 55 years ago in 1962, in the Macleay Valley. The enterprise has developed into a multifaceted organisation which still very much values its core purpose: to provide support for adults with a disability.

Following the presentation, attendees are invited to share in open discussion on the many changes and happenings in South Kempsey.

The evening represents a wonderful opportunity to meet new faces, catch up with familiar ones and to catchup on news from arond the Macleay Valley.

About this event

The Macleay Valley Business Chamber’s May event will be held at the Country Universities Centre.

The Macleay Valley Centre has recently opened and offers a dedicated learning and study space in Kempsey that has been designed for regional people by regional people. University students have free access to high-speed Internet, modern technology, and general academic support all delivered here in the Macleay Valley.

Attendees will hear about the new service from Centre Manager, Kinne Ring and can take a tour of the new facility. Service NSW will also provide an update on their services geared to Business and support available from the Service NSW Business Concierges.

The evening represents a wonderful opportunity to meet new faces, catch up with familiar ones and to catchup on news from arond the Macleay Valley.

Join a friendly business forum and be part of the conversation on navigating the NSW Roadmap to Recovery.

The NSW Government has released has a path to follow out of the pandemic and lockdowns, with the roadmap for easing restrictions at the 80 per cent double dose target. This is expected to come in next week from Monday 11th Oct, and there are certain regulations businesses need to follow.
