The Macleay Valley Business Chamber Executive Committee is made up of local business owners and professionals who volunteer their time to support, connect and advocate for the Macleay Valley business community. Together, they bring experience from a diverse range of industries and share a commitment to building a strong and resilient local economy.

Jarrod

President - Jarrod Lipscombe

Team Spirit Sports co-owner, Jarrod Lipscombe, gained many of his business skills by volunteering at a young age on local sporting committees in the Macleay. These core skills have supported Jarrod to grow Team Spirit by adding new products and markets to the business.

Jarrod is excited about the opportunities for local businesses to expand within the Macleay Valley. Team Spirit has recently added Australian Made in-house sportswear production which has created more local jobs. The Business Chamber is a fantastic forum to meet like-minded people and discuss current issues within the business community.

Scott

Vice President - Scott Charlton

A lifelong Macleay Valley local, Scott Charlton is General Manager – Commercial at DGI Trading, leading the company’s financial and operational functions. Before joining DGI, he managed one of Australia’s leading regional commercial vehicle dealerships for over a decade.

Scott drives local business and regional growth through his role as Vice President of the Business NSW Mid North Coast Regional Advisory Council. He holds a Diploma of Financial Services, bringing strong industry knowledge and commercial leadership to his work.

Tara

Treasurer - Tara Howard

Tara Howard is the owner of Echo Voice & Data, which she has led since 2016. She has built her expertise through hands-on experience, continual learning and collaboration with industry peers. The business has been recognised within the Telstra Partner channel on several occasions, most recently as a nominee for Partner of the Year and recipient of the “Best Rebrand” award. Through this platform, Tara represents Kempsey at a national level.

Tara also runs Kempsey Cash, a local initiative encouraging residents to shop locally and strengthen the Macleay Valley economy.

Adam

Secretary - Adam Fisher

Adam Fisher brings a wealth of knowledge in building ideas from the ground up. With more than 30 years of experience in business leadership, product development, technology and hospitality, he offers a practical perspective on business growth and innovation. With his partner, Erin, he runs local brands Zodiac Coffee Co and Birdie & Basil on The Green, giving him hands on understanding of what it is to run businesses while focusing on creating welcoming places for locals and visitors of the Macleay Valley.

Adam serves as Secretary of the Macleay Valley Business Chamber, is on the Executive Committee of Crescent Head Football Club and is Vice President of the Kempsey East P&C, using his background in strategy, governance, and leadership to support local businesses, community groups, and families.

Jeremy

Committee Member - Jeremy Lipscombe

Jeremy Lipscombe is a highly motivated and results-driven professional with over 10 years of experience in the sportswear/clothing industry. He holds a Bachelor of Business, majored in Human Resource Management and Marketing. 

Since 2015, Jeremy has been the co-owner of Team Spirit Sports, where there has been exciting growth, challenges and success. Jeremy looks forward to working with the Business Chamber to advocate for continued improvements for the business community in the Macleay.

Committee Member - Tenneille Trees

Tenneille Trees brings practical experience and a strong community focus to the Chamber of Commerce. With more than twenty years in nursing, she understands the real challenges faced by local families, businesses, and health services. She has led a multi‑million‑dollar aged care facility as CEO, giving her hands‑on knowledge of staffing, budgets, and day‑to‑day operations. Alongside this, she runs her own small cosmetic injectables business and continues to work at the local hospital, staying connected to the community she serves.

Her mix of clinical experience, leadership, and small‑business insight helps her contribute clear, realistic ideas that support local businesses and strengthen the Chamber’s connection to the community.

Gary

Committee Member - Gary Scott

Long time local, Gary Scott is currently a Licensee with Finance Broking Group, Regional Finance Solutions. Gary has more than 40 years’ experience in the finance industry. He honed his skills over 25 years with Holiday Coast Credit Union and Coastline Credit Union, and earlier spent 16 years with ANZ Bank. His business acumen also includes a 30-year involvement with his local family business; Scott’s Hydraulics.
 
Gary has previously held the Macleay Valley Business Chamber President role, and is a passionate advocator for driving the region’s economic growth. Gary is also actively involved in regional business advocacy through Business NSW and other local business networks.

Committee Member - Bec Laws

A proud Macleay Valley local for more than 35 years, Bec Laws has built a diverse career across banking, business leadership and community engagement. Having owned and operated multiple successful local businesses, including award winning ventures recognised through regional business awards, she brings firsthand experience of the opportunities and challenges faced by business owners in regional communities.

Today, Bec operates Regulate & Rise; 9D Breathwork for Life & Leadership, supporting individuals, teams and workplaces to improve wellbeing, resilience and performance.

Passionate about the future of the Macleay Valley, Bec believes strong communities are built through thriving local businesses, meaningful connections and collaboration.
