Business Community Celebrates Success

An online candle & homewares retailer, a local cabinet maker, a disability service provider and a children’s play centre are among the brilliant businesses recognised in the 2016 Macleay Valley Business Awards.

The 25 winners were announced at a gala dinner attended by over 200 guests at the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club. Guests were treated to a sit down dinner and live entertainment as they heard the winners’ names announced by MC, Manning Civic Centre’s Jeremy Miller.

In congratulating each of the winners, Kempsey Shire Mayor Liz Campbell said once again it is fantastic to see firsthand the high calibre business community we have here in the Macleay Valley.

“It is inspiring and rewarding to hear the stories of each of the award winners, for them it is a very significant achievement to be here and receive the accolades they deserve.”

Chamber President, Gary Scott said quality of winners this year was outstanding.

“The quality and diversity of the entries across each of the awards was excellent. It is fantastic to see so many passionate and motivated professionals locally who are building a solid future for the Macleay Valley.”

The winners were selected from 115 nominees and received awards across 25 categories. The winners of the judged categories will now go on to compete at the Mid North Coast Regional Business Awards next month.

Presenting Sponsor, Macleay Valley Coastal Holiday Parks were delighted with the results. Marketing Manager Danielle Cooney said “These winners demonstrate that passion and determination coupled with strong business acumen can turn a dream into a profitable and sustainable business,” Ms Cooney said.
