About this Event Join the Macleay Valley Business Chamber at the Building Better Business Breakfast and gain insights on how you can be proactive in building our local economy. Our first Guest Speaker, Natalie Mitchell – Director Capital Office Business Solutions will talk us through financial decision making for the future. The presentation will cover an overview of Strategic & Operational Planning – the need to take action now , Risk Assessment & Mitigation , Red Flags & New Turnaround Legislation and Business Finance & Cashflow. Our second Speaker, Stuart Smith – Pathways Officer RDA MNC, will walk us through the North Coast Employment Strategy and how we can grow jobs on the Mid North Coast. He will touch on opportunities for employers and give an overview of the My Future Worksforce Platform which was built to help “Local people into Local Jobs”. This event is funded by and registered as a Small Business Month Event. The breakfast is offered FREE, but bookings are essential and seats are limited. ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS: Natalie Mitchell GAICD MIPA Director, Capital Office Business Solutions Director, Business NSW (NSW Business Chamber) Natalie’s 25 year career in business management began with accounting & finance roles, eventually leading to involvement in business management and inventory control software; she has led sales teams and managed large software implementation projects in Tokyo, Singapore and Chicago. Business consultancy was a natural progression, utilising her skills in management, finance, sales, reporting and governance. Upon returning to Australia, Natalie started her own management consulting and advisory company, which she has now been operating for 16 years on the Mid-North Coast. Stuart Smith RDAMNC Pathways Officer Stuart obtained his PhD from Macquarie University in 2000 and has since worked in research organisations and universities in the United States (NASA), the Republic of Ireland (Trinity College Dublin) and Australia (e.g. Neuroscience Research Australia, Southern Cross University). Most recently he was the Director of Research for the Global Centre for Modern Ageing.As an academic Stuart took an industry-facing approach and has been committed to ensuring research is translated into ‘real world’ applications. He has developed a number of innovative digital solutions for provision of health, aged and disability service provision and is an advocate for the development of knowledge economy-based industries in regional Australia. Stuart and his family have been members of the mid coast communities for over a decade and brings to the Pathways Officer role his enthusiasm and commitment to social and economic development of the region.As part of his role Stuart will be connecting with local employers to introduce RDAMNC’s recently launched employment platform – My Future Workforce. |
