Macleay Valley Business Chamber Dinner; An Interview with the GM

Events
UPDATE: The March Macleay Valley Business Chamber Dinner was a great night, with a good turnout of local business. It is estimated the businesses in the room represent over 700 local jobs across different industries. The Chamber works to bring business together to network and share news, opinions and to learn about the changes affecting our local economy. The presentation was conversational and light hearted and shared little about our new Kempsey Shire Council General Manager. Here are a few things we took away from the night: Craig has two key priorities that form his approach: One is to maintain perspective at both a professional and personal level. In his…

While there have been changes to the structure of the funding model for the project, the Chamber continues to support the Cinema Project on the same principals that it will bring both social and economic benefits to our town. Kempsey Council’s media release “Cinema Funding Alternative” on the 22nd November announced that construction is due to go ahead for the project through a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) which will remove ongoing risk away from Council. Both presenters highlighted "Being consistent is the most important key". The presentations brought about some giggles of the "oh so wrong" examples in marketing and some practical tips on getting started either yourself…
