Due to the current circumstances with COVID-19 (following Government Advisories), the Macleay Valley Business Chamber Executive Committee have decided that it will be in our community’s best interest to postpone this year’s Business Awards program. This includes the cancellation of our Launch event that was scheduled to be held on April 1st 2020. Our aim is to hold the Awards in the latter half of 2020. Kempsey Riverside Markets soared to a new height last Saturday 1st December. Launching the countdown to Christmas there was a mega crazy day sale right across town in the CBD as well as in the West Kempsey shopping precinct. In conjunction with this, Smith street was closed for two hours and it hosted the Shannons / Red Point Show’n’shine. Vehicles assembled at the Slim Dusty Centre early in the morning and then they participated in a cruise lead by the RedPoint truck along Macleay Valley Way, into West Kempsey and then back into the CBD where they were inspected by hundreds of locals and visitors while on display. Advocating for affordable and reliable energy has been a priority of the Chamber for a long time, aiming to reduce excessive network costs and concentration of wholesale and retail markets. “What we were surprised to find, was the complexity of quotes the companies have been given. Making it almost impossible to work out whether you’re on the best deal,” said Kellon Beard, Regional Manager Mid North Coast NSW Business Chamber.
